What a hidden gem! The breakfast was phenomenal, with perfectly cooked bacon and sausages, and I found the steak and ale pie to be the best I’ve ever had. The atmosphere felt cozy and inviting, making my stay truly enjoyable.

    great food
    nice location
    too warm room
    no comfy chairs

this place is a gem, loved the warm atmosphere with a log fire and friendly staff. the food was really tasty and the portions were huge. The room was nice and clean. we even had a good choice of breakfast options. the scenery outside is just beautiful.

though the room was a bit too warm for my liking and there weren't any comfy chairs to chill in.

    generous portion
    tasty food

Just a prime choice for a short stay in Sowerby Bridge with good value considering price it charged. The garlic mushroom starter was a massive portion and absolutely delicious. Make sure to check the menu first as it might not be up to date.

    Family friendly and accommodating

The food was exceptional, we had evening meals that were well presented and delicious. Staff were polite and really good with the kids, they made us feel very welcome.

It wasn’t exactly cheap, but I think it was acceptable for the experience we had.

    senior-friendly

The Alma Inn features charming decor, creating a cozy atmosphere, and the staff were incredibly helpful in assisting me with my luggage and providing recommendations for nearby walking paths, which made my stay enjoyable as a senior traveler.

    clean room
    friendly service
    delightful meal
    tricky shower door

Had an awesome time with friends during our stay! We explored the beautiful countryside and enjoyed a delightful meal outside. The service was friendly and the atmosphere was perfect for our group. The room was clean and comfortable. Just a heads up, the selection for cold breakfast could be better, but the hot options were spot on. I'd recommend it for a fun getaway!

One downside was the shower door, which was quite tricky to open. It took a while to figure it out, which was a bit inconvenient.

The Alma offers a charming atmosphere with lovely decor and attentive staff. While the food was generally well-received, my meal was slightly warm and lacked seasoning. The environment was peaceful, though some noise from the bar was noticeable. a nice experience with room for improvement.

    cozy atmosphere
    delicious meals

    Perfect for a relaxing getaway

Had a fantastic time enjoying the cozy atmosphere with a log fire crackling and a busy pub vibe all around. The meals were delicious especially the steaks cooked just right. there’s nothing quite like that feeling when you take a bite and it’s exactly what you hoped for.

It wasn't exactly cheap but worth every penny.
